Nine months ago I was a piece of the Democratic Party who was also affiliated militant of the DS and its ancestors. My political action, although non-party, took place heavily and painfully, but not exclusively, nell'Agesci. Although I have not had time to register for the PCI and I had little time to devote to politics during college, I had the opportunity to participate in small, but significant, Matera Social Forum where I met several friends and given a minimum contribution, for example, to avoid waste.
When relatively thick, so I had to talk to those who were actively engaged in partisan politics, I could not help myself bitterly commenting on the continuing decline of the Left in general, particularly that of Matera.
're talking about a long time almost ten years, during which, however, for every word of dissatisfaction, there were two of comfort for every bar of criticism he uttered another of Trust. Already, the Trust. Who has confidence in the policy? Who has confidence in the parties? People who trust in politicians, who are near or far?
the circumstances, of course, there is no reason to trust. Unfortunately, there is no solution in distrust. I do not think having to spend words to prove it: no virtuous organizations and mechanisms based on distrust. The building of mutual trust, therefore, is the first step. Someone has to begin to trust one's neighbor, not sprovvedutamente, but reasonably. Possibly, not all. That is also building from scratch, if necessary.
When, in early February of 2010 I was asked to apply for the Municipal, I accepted only after several days of reflection. It is here that discuss the reasons, which were made public at the time, and therefore can be easily found online. Now, the impact is not easily absorbed by partisan politics, it's time to draw the design of the next steps.
The Democratic Party has never been Matera, in the streets of the city, a unified and representative body, then there is no need to plan a return to ancient glories never existed. The efforts and sacrifices being made by so many people so far, to create a viable political entity, innovative and productive may not, however, simply be abandoned and must be further supported, but in actual interruption in the manner that led to the current situation.
The starting point is an attitude of honesty and simple clarity: Often, I happened to listen to arguments such as "Bravo, we need of young people who are serious to reform policy from expelling the old dinosaurs and the corrupt. But how, may I propose to work for a noble purpose by starting with planning a large-scale betrayal? to steal the trust of those who, for better or for worse, in the good and bad, is in the mechanism with the aim of replacing premeditated unfair efficiency (or inefficiency and honest about permutations) with a continuous conspiracy of the palace?
Bel plan: to rebuild the trust based on collective intellectual dishonesty that, among other things, involves accepting a homogeneous non-differentiation between all members of the party. Which, is not. We're not all alike.
And there are those who use certain tools to ease your daily benefit and who is forced to maintain an operations effectively at risk of extinction. You must have the patience to analyze in depth the circumstances, it certainly rare in a country that now treats safely Blackshirts and Partisans killed just because they all died from lead.
The function of the renewal is for increasing the efficiency of the system, not to make the generational conflict is the ultimate goal of system. And the end of the system is the optimal management of everyday life and the construction of a future at least passable, given the circumstances. It is urgent, therefore, a complete reconstruction of the party, for a number of reasons that I shall summarize in one word: survival.
survival of the city choked in the absence of basic needs and employment prospects.
Survival of the future of new generations that began in Matera is synonymous with emigration or welfare clientelism.
Survival Environment whose looting and destruction which not only pose a risk to human health but reduced any hope of economic recovery in the mud of floods, heaps of garbage, petrochemical contamination and desertification can not imagine an agricultural development, tourism and even industrial development.
I could go on for hours about the urgency of this community that is losing any ability of civil society and sees the crumbling foundations of traditional solidarity that are lost in the maelstrom of the new language Berlusconi. But it is not the case.
Add one more category of survival: that the Democratic Party.

And the continued patronage of local forms of electoral support are not sustainable given the further dramatic economic circumstances. The self of certain patterns led to the different souls of the Democratic Party to follow tracks in a retrograde internal zero-sum game to lose and objectively from a global point of view with most serious consequences for administrative realities and the size and quality of electoral support. It would be absurd to think the only one to have in your pocket recipes for solutions or approaches to the problem with personalistic mode, the same that are part of the problem. Although it is a bitter medicine, and not without dangerous drawbacks, one of the primary is proving the way of forging new and effective leadership of the Left.
The PD has two choices: adapt quickly or ignore the facts. In the first case, we have some hope even in the short - medium term, in the second case, the real crossing of the desert classic expression as timely as ever, has not even begun.
now, the weather icons in the trust is far over. The Left is pulverized, we'll rebuild it molecule by molecule. As yet, electoral majority in the Basilicata region, we note bitterly of being a minority culture even before a weak and divided political force. What I propose is a difficult, uncomfortable, unpopular and slow down the construction of the fabric of the party. Absolutely not in conflict with the Party itself: my focus is on problems outside the structure of the party, I leave to more skilled and ambitious operators look to climb the peaks of internal renewal and hope that when they are at the top, there is still a country to govern.
I propose a duality of continuous confrontation with the territory and its problems associated with appropriate and immediate administrative measures.
propose that, with patience, commitment and effort, the themes of work, environment, space management youth, culture and management of the daily life of this city to be immediately addressed by groups of work that will prepare and implement events that lead to public debate and any solutions identified the direct attention of the Administration and City Council in which twelve directors are offshoots of the Democratic Party.
We must bring, at last, the Democratic Party in the everyday life of the City, resolving problems through a variety of actions, voices, points of view and also to harsh bitter because the problems to be solved, provided that such to be public and transparent and that, consequently, allow to take decisive measures in council under the single banner of the Democratic Party.
We involve associations that lead to years before the battles of civilization and development, from land management to that of Culture, the Social Volunteer to the most innovative experiences of excellence that are not lacking in our city:
from 2019 to Citadel of Matera Cinema, Free Software for youth policy, renewable electricity to the themes of work and culture (not to come on matters of national importance) are already in our city associations and skills to be involved directly and that it would be counterproductive to get in competition.
Still, some facts make me really encouraging. In strict chronological order:
The existence of a militant base is completely cross-currents, able to meet, discuss, confront and be productive. The work of this group of militants of the Democratic Party this question will continue and constitute an operational cell that will soon be tested. Then, the election, finally, the new secretary of the club.
Guarini Simon has to face and solve a lot of problems all serious, all urgent. His election to represent more of a hope: to be the first stone for the construction of a virtuous cycle of trust that must be supported in full. The ideas are materialized in action!
Therefore, if our ideas are worth something, even if it is worth to live intellectually, is the mechanism Idea - Action you must leave! That's why I believe that one possible solution is to remain stubbornly rooted in the facts, issues, issues. Small side note: the words Left and Right are important and have a practical significance that goes far beyond the content of television listings.

Personally, I think, following this approach, Party may at least, at least, directed to become a force and popular reformist Left, credible. The solution I propose is difficult, absolutely brilliant, but does not need charismatic leaders, captatio benevolentiae or large numbers of viewers. Need a bit 'of people willing to work, to meet in the evening in a basement, moving chairs, write, send emails and especially willing to listen without prejudice, with the aim, say, to adopt the free software to the City or imagine a different management of community gathering spaces, and let fall a bit 'of trust and hope the city.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics encourages me: after all, propose to do so much work for little results possible: I think it's the right way.
